Project overview
Func Factory is a new brand that designs and manufactures golf wear, alpine ski wear, outdoor garments, intensive sport garments and beach swimwear. Their website should be modern, fresh, and interactive and cater to both the end consumer and the distributor/retailer. The first step is to build a website that can present the different collections to the visitor, provide them with information about the garments, let them find a store and to be inspired by images and other content. The website should increase awareness about the brand, build the user database and push sales. It will also serve the distributor who will be able to login and update information about stores, download sales material and (possibly) place orders for the various collections.

Website structure
The following is a suggestion for the different pages that the website should consist of.

Start page
The face of the website must be a strong image builder and focus on the most important – the collections and the products. It should show image(s) from one or more collections, linking the visitor further into the site. These images can be random. The front page can be season-specific, meaning that at the time of a new collection, this can be the only thing visible on the home page (beside menu and page framework), at other times the start page could serve as a teaser to other areas of the site such as Friends in the Func Family, a particular product, store locator, etcetera.

Technical requirements:
- Featured areas that can be edited from admin.
- Random product displayed with product information from database
- Main navigation menu that can be edited from admin by adding or removing pages.
- Use background image that fills 100% of the screen, like on www.peakperformance.se, www.desigual.com or www.norrona.com. Preferably without using flash. Or using flash for only the image part but html for the rest.

Latest collections
- Golf wear
o All the products within the collection presented with nice images and all the product details, from sizes to colours.
o Share-function to recommend product to friend and put on Facebook, Digg, Twitter, etc.
- Alpine Skiwear
- Outdoor Garments
- Intense Sports Garments
- Beach Swimwear

Weather whatever-application with a thermometer (see image below) – if we decide to follow through on this idea, this can be an alternative user path to a product. User can navigate both via a certain collection or via a temperature range. I assume we’d add an extra attribute per product, temperature, and make a javascript/ajax-function on this thermometer to show products from a specific temperature range? Please quote on this as a separate feature.

Technical requirements:
- A product database like Magento’s or similar with sizes, colours, price, materials and other attributes. Ability to display multiple product images.
- Ability to show a product image that shows several products, like on http://se.rohnisch.com/collections/golf/lookbook+golf where the model wears several products. I know Magento has two built-in versions of grouped products. Maybe either of these can be used?
- Since there are 5-7 collections per year, it needs to be easy to add these 500-700 products to the database, batch import-function.
- The product display should be cool, modern and flashy; possible to enlarge image without popup, show layer on mouse over, possible to change colour (like on http://www.fjallraven.se/Produkter/jackor–vastar/expedition-down-jacket) and display other product image.

About the products

Technical requirements:
- Size guide, wash instructions and materials are static pages. Editable from the backend.
- Register product is an interactive form where the user adds personal data in order to register a product that they have bought (offline). Information should be saved and stored in a database. An idea is to also save this information as a Magento-account, so that IF the client later decides to make this into a B2C-webshop, these user accounts are already prepared and client can send an email inviting them to use the shop.
IN either case, the client needs to be able to access this information in an easy manner.
- Order catalogue. A form where a copy is sent to an admin account and a copy to the person that requested the catalogue. User information needs to be stored in database.

Media (/Events)
To start with it could include image galleries for the public. Suggestion to use open source-gallery scripts like Slimbox 2 or similar.
This could later, like peakperformance.se, include videos from different events. Would appreciate your suggestions how to be able to include video in a nice, integrated player for later use.
Technical requirements:
- Fairly static pages. Text, images, files. Should be simple for the client if they want to add an image gallery. Also video, but this can be quoted by you as an extra feature.

Store locator
The user can find a store depending on Country and location. This is a non-core-magento-feature and will be similar to http://www.peakperformance.se/Stores/, http://www.fjallraven.se/Om-oss/Fjallraven/Aterforsaljare/ or http://www.galvingreen.com/storelocator/
But probably only country and city. Google map possibility if not too complicated.
Perhaps could use an existing Magento extension and modify (see additional requirements below under Admin features)? (http://www.magentocommerce.com/extension/956/google-maps-store-locator)

Technical requirements:
- Retailers/stores are stored in the database containing the basic information like name, address, phone, email, website, country, etcetera.
- Could be good to pin location to a Google-map.

Press
Static page to include press releases, logotypes, high-res images intended for the press.

Technical requirements:
- This would still be a rather static page, but needs to be able to update from admin in an HTML-editor and have possibility to upload files (same requirements for any other static page)

News
Corporate news. Serving the user and Google. Can maybe be integrated with blog in some way. Ope for your suggestions here regarding what Magento can offer or if you have any of your own modules.

Technical requirements:
- News module that allows to show news articles one by one, in a blog view with several shorter ones on one page, show snippets of a news article, show archive-page.
Possible to add text and image to the news article.

Newsletter signup
Should be visible everywhere. Can be simple with just the email address required, or ask the user to put in a lot more information, perhaps have a monthly competition where they can win something if they fill out all information.

Technical requirements:
- Form to sign up. Save user information to database. Possibly have different email lists. Option to have more extensive form with more user information to be filled in. If using this, should save information to default user accounts in Magento for later use.

Contact us
Contact form plus all relevant contact info.

Technical requirements:
- An email should be sent to ADMIN when someone posts.

Blog
Great way of communicating directly with the visitors, building the brand and getting that nice, extra traffic. Requires interesting content and regular updates.
User can subscribe to blog updates; this can be done via RSS. Or we combine blog with other news for one, regular newsletter, see newsletter signup. Maybe one can use extensions like http://www.magentocommerce.com/extension/1516

Technical requirements:
- A blog, like Wordpress with the most common functions.

Login areas

- Distributor’s common area
After login the distributor should have access to information not available to the public, like marketing material and other downloads. This distributor page needs to be editable by admin.

- Distributor’s unique area
- Edit store locator. Each store in the sotre locator should be pinned to a distributor. This means that each distributor will have access to edit one or more stores’ information in their region.
- Please also quote on an extra order feature: A plain list of all products in a form where they would be able to select the items and quantity they want to order and place an order by processing the form.

- Producer’s common area
Same functionality as distributor’s area, the producers should also be able to login and get access to information that admin has published for them. This producer’s page needs to be editable by admin.

Admin

Technical requirements:
- An admin system with different levels of administration rights.
o Super-admin. Has access to all functionality.
o Distributor. Has a unique login to access the store locator for their area. Is responsible for one or several stores/shops in their area. They can add, edit and delete the different stores that exist in their area/country.
They can access and edit their own company information.
There is also a common login-area that all distributors should be able to access; here they can download marketing materials, high-res images and other files uploaded by super-admin.
o Producer. Maybe there will be a producer level. They will in that case get access to some information not made public.
o Normal visitor. Everything should be prepared as if the normal visitor could buy online. From the launch of the website they will not gain access to purchase. Maybe after a few years, they will be able to buy directly online.

Other technical requirements:
- SEO. Need to be able in the backend to set meta titles and meta description for individual pages for search engine optimization purposes.
- Admin language to be in English.
- Newsletters. Option for visitor to sign up/opt-out for newsletter. Functionality to send HTML-Newsletter out through the system.
- Share-functionality to share products or other info to Facebook, Twitter, Digg, etcetera.
